Barefoot is a BSA approved surf school in Putsborough, North Devon, UK. Run by vintage waterman Nigel Brown (with 34 years Surfing experience), the school specialise in teaching beginners. Small groups, lots of personal attention and a highly professional, fun approach to learning to ride the waves. All staff are BSA instructors, SLSA lifeguards and professional teachers, with full CRB clearance. Full members of Sports Coach UK.

I have tried out a couple of Surf schools down at Croyde but came away disappointed. Barefoot are brilliant. Nigel and Judith are so enthusiastic and I am well and truly hooked. I can't recommend them highly enough.

An excellent, friendly and approachable school. Both Nigel and his partner know how to get the most from the school's participants and run the sessions with a great deal of prfessionalism. They also know the tide and surf conditions and can tailor the sessions to suit. Overall an excellent school for anyone that wants a more personal approach and has never set foot (or body) on a board before. Highly recommended.
