Kai Lenny is the first SUP World Champion

The first SUP world champion proved his quality in small surf. As the finals got underway, it became clear that the World Title was not enough for the young Champion. He wanted the event win, too. Lenny scored two high scoring waves just had to relax.

The remaining finalists scratched around to find waves that might match Kai's performance, but to no avail. Kai stepped into a league of his own and won the SUP World Champioships, much to the delight of his family and friends on the beach.

The Official crowning of the World Champion for 2010 will take place this Saturday, on the Big Island. The 2011 Stand Up World Tour will grow bigger, better and in more places than ever.

The world's biggest names in kitesurfing will be attending the first big event in the Cook Islands. The "Kiting Towards Heaven" is set to kick off between June 25th and July 2nd and promises to catapult the small country on to the international stage as a kitesurfing destination.
