MEN ON AT SUNSET BEACH; LAY DAY FOR ROXY PRO HAWAII
News provided by ASP World Tour on 29 November 2006
SUNSET BEACH, Hawaii – The Roxy Pro Hawaii shares a contest window with the O’neill World Cup of Surfing – a 6-star men’s World Qualifying Series (WQS) event. The men will take to the six foot (two metre) Sunset Beach surf this morning; the women will not surf today.
“There’s some size out there but due to sloppy conditions we’ve called the Roxy Pro Hawaii off today,” Triple Crown executive director Randy Rarick said. “The swell is supposed to hold and we’re expecting the winds to swing to a more northeasterly tradewind flow, so tomorrow looks promising for the women.”
Just three rounds of the Roxy Pro Hawaii remain and the event can be wrapped up in three and half hours of competition. Another call on Roxy Pro Hawaii competition status will be made tomorrow morning at 7am.
