BILLABONG WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE UNDERWAY
News provided by ASP World Tour on 4 January 2006
Surfers are in the water as we speak at North Narrabeen, Sydney, Australia for the Billabong World Junior Championships.
While the waves are very wind-affected and there are some solid rain squalls, there is ample opportunity for the surfers to strut their stuff in the one to two metre (three to six foot) conditions.
The girl’s quarter finals are in the water first and they will be closely followed by the hotly contested men’s event round two.
With the men’s going into round two it is serious business as it is now sudden death from here on in.
The Billabong World Junior Championships is the only ASP sanctioned junior event and is renowned for launching the careers of aspiring pro surfers.
Action will finish up this afternoon around 5pm local time so stay tuned to the live webcast on www.billabongpro.com and www.aspworldtour.com
